Venetians Cycle Toward the Future: “Bike to Work” Grows in Mira
Participation in the Bike To Work Project continues in the Venice area, particularly in the municipality of Mira. Under this project, registered participants who commute to work by bike, on foot, or by scooter—leaving their cars at home—receive mileage vouchers to use for purchases at a number of participating stores in the city.
In recent days, a voucher presentation ceremony was held in Mira, revealing some interesting statistics about the initiative, which began a year and a half ago: by the second four-month period of this year, 70 participants had joined (+15 compared to 2025), who had already traveled 27,799 km (+60 km compared to all of 2025), thereby saving 4,170 kg of CO₂ (equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 208 trees).
Shopping vouchers totaling €2,830 were distributed for use at participating stores in Mira.
